The scholarship deadline is December 31, 2022, and consists primarily of a 1200-word essay on the topic listed below. Students must be currently enrolled in college or be a college-bound senior to be eligible. While the scholarship is aimed at students interested in healthcare marketing, all qualifying students are encouraged to apply.
The Goals of the Scholarship

Essay Topic 2021
Scholarship applicants are asked to write an essay on the following topic:
How can healthcare marketing techniques impact relationships between patients and healthcare providers?
The essay must be at least 1200 words in length. The paper must also be 100% the student’s own work. Plagiarism of any form will result in immediate disqualification from the present and all future scholarship opportunities.
Scholarship Eligibility Requirements
To apply for the 2022 scholarship, applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Applicant must be at least 18 years old
- Applicant must be a legal U.S. citizen
- Applicant must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or higher
- Applicant must submit an original essay based on the topic and requirements specified
- Applicant must adhere to submission guidelines
- Applicant must show proof of enrollment in a college, university, or community college
- Applicant must show proof of acceptance in a college, university, or community college
The application process will require documentation verifying that the applicant meets these eligibility requirements. Applicants who don’t meet these criteria or fail to provide adequate documentation will be ineligible for the 2022 scholarship.
Essay Requirements
In addition to the eligibility requirements listed above, the essay itself has additional requirements that applicants must meet. Failure to meet these requirements will result in disqualification from the 2022 scholarship opportunity.
All essays must meet the following requirements:
- Essay must be the applicant’s original work.
- Essay must adhere to the assigned topic.
- Essay must be at least 1200 words in length.
- Essay must utilize proper punctuation, grammar, and spelling.
- Essay must demonstrate originality of thought.
- Essay must be submitted by 5:00 PM PST on December 31, 2022.
- Essay must be submitted via email to scholarship@usleadnetwork.net.
- Essay will be evaluated based on adherence to the topic as well as style and grammar.
Students must also meet the other eligibility requirements for essays to be evaluated. Any plagiarism will result in the applicant being permanently disqualified from the 2022 and all future scholarship opportunities.
How to Apply for the 2022 Scholarship
Applicants can apply for the scholarship by sending their essay and all required documentation in a single email to: scholarship@usleadnetwork.net
The email subject line must read: “US Lead Network Scholarship Application”. Again, applicants are required to include all documents in this same singular email.
Applicants should make sure to send the following information:
- The applicant’s full legal name
- The applicant’s date of birth
- The completed essay (as an email attachment)
- Documentation verifying that the student has a GPA of 2.5 or higher One of the following documents:
- Documentation verifying enrollment in an accredited college, university, or community college.
- Documentation verifying acceptance in an accredited college, university, or community college.
Applicants are discouraged from sending multiple emails. Make sure your information is complete and accurate at the time of application.
Students are likewise discouraged from sending follow-up emails. The winner will be contacted directly by a US Lead Network staff member and publicly announced no later than January 15, 2023.
How the Scholarship is Determined
Applications will be reviewed by a panel of US Lead Network staff members, who will evaluate the applicant’s essay based on the following criteria:
- Adherence to the assigned essay topic
- Achievement of the 1200-word submission requirement
- Verification that the content is 100% original to the applicant
- Proper use of spelling, grammar, and punctuation
- Style and vocabulary use
- Originality
Scholarship winners will be contacted directly by a staff member at US Lead Network. The winner will then be publicly announced no later than January 15, 2023.
After the scholarship is awarded, the winner will be permanently honored on this page. Winners can choose to have either their full name or their initials displayed on this page, which will serve as future confirmation of this achievement.
The $1500 scholarship award will be sent directly to the student’s college, university, or community college financial aid department and our US Lead Network staff will coordinate this process on behalf of the winner.
After the winner has been confirmed, US Lead Network will contact the financial aid office of the academic institution to announce the award recipient and notify them to expect a $1500 scholarship check on behalf of the winning student.
US Lead Network will send all checks to the financial aid office within 30 days of announcing the winner of the 2022 scholarship.
Only one winner will be chosen per year. If you apply for the 2022 scholarship award and do not receive it, you are encouraged to apply for additional years provided you remain enrolled in a qualifying academic institution, and you have not otherwise been disbarred from the scholarship award.
A new essay will be required each year and will be specified in future scholarship announcements.
If at any point a staff or school board member learns that the student violated the requirements of the scholarship, U.S. Lead Network may rescind the award. This stipulation applies to essay content, as well as the eligibility requirements described above.
Tips for Applicants
Applicants should ensure that their essays and applications meet all of the requirements above. Before submitting your application, the student should consider the following:
- Does my essay address the assigned topic?
- Is my writing 100% my original work?
- Have I proofread for punctuation, spelling, and grammar?
- Have I let others read my essay and provide feedback?
- Does my application contain my name and date of birth?
- Have I attached proof of my current GPA?
- Have I provided proof of enrollment or acceptance in a qualifying academic institution?
- Have I submitted my application by the required deadline?
Remember, late entries will not be considered. All 2022 scholarship applications must be submitted by 5:00 PM PST on December 31, 2022.
